A T-shirt design!

This was just an idea I wanted to get out, just to see what it would look like... I actually took this photo, then played around with some Photoshop effects. What d'u think? Would you buy this t-shirt?

last 2 env paintings

These are the last 2 environments... a smokey, dimly lit throne room, and a Corrupted Tower of Light spewing forth dark clouds of dooom... anyways, I really need to learn how to do digital painting... one of these days...

First 2 environs..

2 environments, displaying my complete lack of Photoshop-painting-skills. The interior is the "Spark Chamber", where the hero first meets his horse companion. The exterior is the Last Tower of Light... hidden within an idyllic mountain valley. But anyways, 2 down, 2 more to go...

Eech, it kinda hurts to post these ugly paintings, but it's all part of the learning process, right? Hopefully I'll get into Sam's digital painting class and learn how to do all those pretty Photoshop effects, but for now I'm just trudging along all by my lonesome.

Now that I think about it, I never really was good at painting... All growing up, I mostly used pens and pencils... sometimes markers, but using paint was much more rare. Oh well...

Bad guy, comic sidekicker (the horse), and lovey re-do

I've tweaked the love interest slightly, and now here's the main Antagonist (an evil warlock in battle armor) and the Hero's comic sidekick, his trusty steed composed of ancient horse armor and super-charged electrons, similar to lightning. I'm still playing around, as you can see, but time is gradually running out...

Character Designs! The Good Guy and his Crush...

These are for Kelly's Illusion of Life Class. The assignment was to create 4 characters and 4 environments to practice concept development and character design. I'm not sure if they're ready to go yet, so these are still in production phase... Comments?

Texture's for Joe

These are some texture studies for Joe's class. These actually were done after the Zoo one and before the Toy Design, but I don't think it really matters when I post... as long as there IS a post. Can you guess where each of them comes from?? Which is your favorite? I'd tell you mine, but then you'd be biased!

My First 3D movie!

Ok, so Blogger won't take really big, bloated movie clips... but apparently Facebook will... So I've thrown my 3D movie onto Facebook, and here's a link if you'd like to go see it! You could try using this one, but it might not fit inside the frame... If you right-click the movie, then choose "Show All" it could help, but the full-screen version is on the Facebook website.

Comments either here or there would work... I think...

Toy Design

Another assignment for Joe's class. I've started to get the hang of the tonal Prismacolor markers, but still not that great. So this costume design was casually stolen from Dynasty Warrior's "Zhao Yun" character. I dunno how well it works... would you buy this toy?? Here's another image link to see where I got my inspiration from:

Zhao Yun from Dynasty Warriors

oh, and no, he is NOT stabbing the horse in the eye... just an unlucky camera angle...

Moida at the Zoo

So this semester I'm in Joe Olsen's "Drawing for Animation" class, and it is GREAT! Except that it's an evening class, and we usually don't get out of class until 9ish or so. Anyways, enough whining... This was our 1st assignment, given by Joe in order to assess our level of commitment or amount of "passion." The Theme was "Murder at the Zoo." I shamelessly stole the layout from a movie poster for "The Usual Suspects." Here's the link if you're interested:

I've actually never even seen the movie, but apparently it's good. Maybe later when I have time... ha!

Illusion of Life, the 1st a-sig-n-ment

Yay, it's my first 2D movie in a long time... but wait, the 3D one is on its way! This was for Kelly Loosli's "Illusion of Life" class. We had about a month to work on it, but of course I only started working on it about a week or so ago. This past weekend was particularly trying... but it is now over and I think I'm going to go to sleep and stay that way for a while.

I've tried reshooting the scene, so hopefully it will come out a little bit lighter.

The Last Minute

So Kelly, our teacher for Storyboarding, lets us submit corrections for previous projects. They are due today before 12 midnight. I had postponed redoing my single panel story till today... and so here is a quick and dirty scribble done in Photoshop, aptly titled "The Last Minute." I'm sorry if it seems a little morbid, it's probably just the stress leaking out...

Here's a little something that I came up with a while ago, see what you think...

The drive to suceed is usually (if not always) superseded by the desire to do it tomorrow.
