Well, I guess in terms of storytelling, the only thing that is lacking is a true resolution. Who exactly is the story about? I thought the boy, but what happens after the cat runs away with the ball? How does he change? Just some nit-picking irrtants for you to enjoy.
I just thought I'd try to add something that doesn't sound so cynical and critical;
I think one thing I am definitely more interested in learning about; something you were great in characterizing, was the yellow and orange balls. What are their backstories? I felt like I could really connect with them. The cat or boy, not so much. But seriously, good work!
