My final submission for Pre-Dominance War V
Yup! This guy is finally all finished. I'm not incredibly pleased with how he turned out, but I have definitely learned a TON. I am so very grateful that the original deadline got pushed back to Dec. 15, which gave me a whole extra week to work on this project ^_^. All-in-all, my very first online art competition was a great learning experience, and I hope to participate in similar art challenges in the future.
One of these days I'll get a 360 turn-around rendered...
I also think that it's pretty funny that I'm using this project as my Digital Painting Class final, as well as my Personal Projects class. :D lol

Pre-Dom War V... Late start
I've just recently finished modeling and UV'ing my entry into the Pre-Dom War V competition. It's a big online event for digital artists, kinda like the Olympics for athletes. The start date was Nov. 8th, but I just started working on my stuff this week... and everything is due before Dec. 6th... :( I've got some catching up to do, but so far it's been really fun rushing through the pipeline and dealing with the pressure of such a quick deadline. I'm sure that "fun" won't be the word I will use to describe everything by the time this is over.
Anyways, here's some art!
The character I'm working on is based on the "Shadow" class, a stealthy assassin/rogue type. My guy is a synthetic alien construct, powered by an inner fusion reactor. He can produce electromagnetic fields to control metallic objects around him, as seen by his various sword blades floating behind his back. Depending on the situation, he can attach a different blade to his forearm and adapt to whatever opponent he is facing.

Second Digital Painting Assignment
The Pitch:
Dundel, the son of Duncan, travels to a deep forest in search of a legendary sword rumored to have magical powers. Upon finding the sword, he triggers a trap set by slave-trading aliens! The aliens put Dundel in a gladiator-style death match involving different fighters from various planets and galaxies. He must prove his valor by defeating all of his opponents so that he can return to save his village, and earn his place as rightful heir to the chieftain.A great Monday evening show, following Adventure Time, aimed at the young adult (particularly male) audience.

Logo designs for the BYU Chinese Club
Yup. See, the CC things make a Yin-Yang thing... it's really Chinese, right? I think the club is going to be putting the winning design on a T-shirt... and if my design wins I'll get a free one!
